The interior of the 2023 Acura Integra looks oddly like that of the Civic

The unveiling of the concept 2023 Acura Integra, last fall, caused a lot of ink to flow. The model’s followers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the reincarnation of this iconic name. Even Jean-Marc Leclerc, Chief Executive Officer, Honda Canada, confessed that he didn’t like seeing the Integra name “being dragged through the mud” like it had. However, he was confident that the Integra will have what it takes to satisfy performance enthusiasts. Now, images of its interior are surfacing.

These snaps were captured as part of the 24 Hours in Daytona, Florida over the past weekend. Acura had stationed the concept of theIntegra at the event. But unlike the copy it had unveiled last fall, which was deprived of a passenger compartment, this one was dressed in a complete interior and seemed ready to be marketed.

No touchpad

Unsurprisingly, we see how much the passenger compartment of theIntegra draws its resemblance to that of the Honda Civic of 11and generation. This is completely normal, considering the fact that this Acura will be based on a Civic and will borrow most of its mechanical components. However, we expected it to inherit the same infotainment system with touchpad as the rest of the Acura lineup. But no.

We understand, however, that Honda’s luxury division did not go with this system in order to free up space for the 6-speed manual gearbox, a key element that will allow the Integra, according to Acura, to stand out from other luxury subcompacts. Remember that, although all the technical details have not yet been confirmed, Acura has mentioned that the Integra will be powered by the same 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine as the Civic Si paired with the same manual transmission .

Almost a copy-paste

In addition to a design of the dashboard a little different than that of its cousin, almost all the elements of the Civic are there in this Integra: central console, the three circular buttons of the air conditioning and the screen of the multimedia system. Even the steering wheel appears to be identical to that of a Civic except for the Acura badging. The images, however, reveal slightly different air conditioning nozzles as well as more upscale materials and color schemes.

During our conversation with the folks at Honda Canada last week, we learned that Acura plans to market the Integra this summer. No pricing has yet been revealed. Although Honda Canada preferred not to say anything about a potential Type S version, everything suggests that such a model is also in the plans.
