The 2024 Acura Integra Type S will be more powerful than the Civic Type R

Automakers like to tickle us when it comes time to introduce a vehicle of significance, and that’s exactly what Honda is doing with the new 2024 Acura Integra S-Type. While the car will be introduced next month, the manufacturer has just unveiled its power in a short press release.

We already know that the 2024 Acura Integra Type S will be equipped with the same engine as the Honda Civic Type R, namely a 2-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder. In the case of the Civic Type R, it develops 315 horsepower and produces 310 lb-ft of torque. Honor where credit is due, the more upscale status of the Integra Type S earns it slightly higher power since the manufacturer announces a power of 320 horsepower, or 5 more. As for torque, it remains the same at 310 lb-ft. Acura thus ensures that it maintains the superior status of its luxury brand compared to the Civic.

This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, it will be the only one offered, and that’s very good news. A limited-slip differential will also be fitted as standard to optimize its performance.

If you are eagerly awaiting all the details on the model, the wait won’t be very long since the 2024 Acura Integra Type S will be officially presented at the 48e Grand Prix of Long Beach in California. The event, which takes place from April 14 to 16, is presented by Acura and features several major series, including the Indycar Series NTT.

Conclusion

Even if we recognize Honda’s efforts to revive the emotion and sportiness of some of its models, the Acura Integra left us wanting more during our recent tests. Will the Type S high-performance version be able to reconcile us with the model? The table seems set, but we will find out shortly.
