Chevrolet seems to be moving forward with a Silverado ZR2

The fashion for off-road vans does not seem to be slowing down. As proof, the year 2021 brought us other novelties, including the extreme Ram 1500 TRX and not one, but two new versions of the Ford F-150 Raptor. Chevrolet, which does not yet have a real full-size van of its kind, also intends to embark on the race with a brand new version ZR2 of Silverado.

Remember that the declination ZR2 already exists on the Colorado side. This mid-size pickup stands out from its competitors with its completely redesigned suspension, fortified chassis and adventure-oriented accessories.

Besides the rumors that have been circulating online for some time, Chevrolet has so far never offered a Silverado ZR2. The only slightly more adventurous variant that the model offers is the Trail Boss which is more oriented towards the light off-road.

The Silverado ZR2 could therefore be much beefier and offer consumers a little more thrills thanks to even more robust components in order to be able to jump the dunes.

General Motors is however still very discreet about the details of this model which will make its appearance this fall only, that is to say at the time when a good update will be made to the entire Silverado range following numerous criticisms related to its interior.

On its Twitter account, the Chevrolet pickup division posted a short video of a camouflaged prototype of the Silverado ZR2 rolling in the mud. Not much can be seen there except the wheels and tires as well as the ZR2 badge, confirming its arrival next fall.
