End of Quadrifoglio high-performance gasoline models at Alfa Romeo

After the 2024 model year, the marketing of high-performance models Quadrifoglio ofAlfa Romeo will be discontinued for North America. The news was announced by Larry Dominique, Senior Vice President of Stellantis and responsible for Alfa Romeo and Fiat in North America through a publication on his LinkedIn account.

The statement read, “Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio performance models say goodbye to North America, at least for now.” It’s time to head to your local Alfa Romeo dealership! »

Electrified versions coming soon

“The year 2024 represents the last chance to order a Giulia Quadrifoglio and a Stelvio Quadrifoglio powered by a 505 horsepower twin-turbo V6! This is the last chance to own a Quadrifoglio powered solely by combustion engine technology, as we continue our metamorphosis towards an electrified future. However, that’s not the end of the story. I look forward to introducing the next chapter of the four-leaf clover journey. »

We therefore understand that the Quadrifoglio branded cars will make a return in the future, but with an electrified engine under the hood. It is currently unclear whether these will be hybrid or fully electric models. This is definitely the end of gasoline-only models.

The option to order a 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio or Stelvio Quadrifoglio will end for North America at the end of April 2024. The last internal combustion engine Quadrifoglio models for the United States and Canada will leave the factory in Cassino in June 2024.

The news comes as the Alfa Romeo brand celebrates 100e anniversary of the Quadrifoglio four-leaf emblem. Moreover, the brand currently markets 100 versions th Anniversario of its sports sedan and its SUV, the Stelvio. Both Quadrifoglio models are powered by a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine; it develops 505 horsepower and produces 443 pound-feet of torque.

Our opinion

Despite their difference in reliability, the two Quadrifoglio cars have no equal in terms of performance. These are vehicles that do not do half measures, their DNA is definitely focused on performance and leaves comfort aside. I have rarely driven vehicles that provide such a sensation, it is a real guilty pleasure every time I have the chance to get behind the wheel.
