Volkswagen | The Tiguan takes muscle

In the wake of the marketing of the new generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan from this spring, the German brand had a surprise for us. The SUV will win for the 2026 model year a brand new more muscular livery.

First more sporty vocation variant offered in Canada from this model to placid positioning, the Tiguan Turbo draws its performances from the 2 l Turbocharge therapy. The use of a larger turbocharger increases the power to 268 hp and a torque of 258 lb-ft, respective gains of 67 hp and 51 lb-ft.

Many internal parts have been modified to withstand the increase in air pressure and the compression rate has been lowered, in addition to the addition of injectors producing higher fuel pressure. Interestingly, it still works according to the Miller cycle, to reduce its consumption. The eight -speed automatic transmission also remains in the catalog, as is the full in -laws.

This new version, whose full name is Turbo Highline R-Line, seeks to take advantage of the technical advances conferred by the use of the MQB EVO platform which makes it possible to reduce its weight by 77 kg compared to the previous generation.
