The Kia EV6 GT will command a price tag of nearly $80,000

One of the first performance vehicles marketed by Kia promises to impress. Its two motors, its skid mode, and its 77.4 kilowatt-hour battery are included, but you will have to pay the big price in order to enjoy these advantages. Kia asking nearly $80,000 for the EV6 GT 2023.

Kia: synonymous with performance?

There was a time when no one could have imagined the words Kia and performance in the same sentence; however, the story is quite different today. the Kia EV6 GT 2023 is now the most powerful and fastest vehicle ever released by the manufacturer, surpassing the Stinger which previously held this title.

Two motors are responsible for moving the SUV: one of 160 kilowatts installed on the front axle, then a second of 270 kilowatts on the rear axle. The total power created by this combination of engines is therefore 576 horsepower, which allows the EV6 GT to complete the 0 to 100 km/h in a time of barely 3.55 seconds. Its top speed reaches 260 kilometers per hour.

A skid mode is also included, which allows the car to use only the rear motor for more control. All of its performances, however, strongly affect the range of the car, while the first estimated data is around 330 kilometers on a full charge.

Otherwise, the $77,394 that is asked for this car certainly does not go unnoticed, but in fact, the prices of the competition are not far off. Its close cousin, the Genesis GV60, commands a price that starts at $71,150, while the most equipped and powerful version retails around the $81,000 mark.

Then, the Tesla Model Y Performance, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT or the Audi Q4 e-tron of this world all in turn command a selling price which is around the $ 80,000 mark, offering less more power than Kia’s EV6 GT.

The Kia-Hyundai alliance at the heart of the future

The future marketing of cars more extravagant than each other has been announced for some time now by the two members of the Kia-Hyundai alliance. At Hyundai, we are particularly expecting the arrival of the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N (known as the RN22e) or the N Vision 72.

In addition to the EV6 GT, a beefy electric SUV, the Kia EV9, is also expected in the very near future. The Kia Niro EV has been redesigned for 2023, and we also know that Kia intends to put the GT badge on all of its future electric models. An electric van is also in the plans.
