The Crosstrek refines to keep pace

Subaru recently lifted the veil on the Canadian version of the Subaru Crosstrek, which had a worldwide unveiling last September.

As stated in the premise, the changes are not fundamental, the Japanese brand seeking to do well by tweaking a product that remains competitive in a popular segment. Thus, the platform remains the same, but is stiffened to increase torsional strength by 10% thanks to greater use of structural adhesives. This Crosstrek also gets the rack and pinion from the WRX for added precision.

To top it all off, the body gets a slight facelift focused on a frameless hexagonal grille and thinner headlights. It is also claimed that the aerodynamics have also been tweaked to allow better airflow and ensure better stability. Note also the arrival of the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless series.

Mechanically, it’s the same, or almost. A 152-hp 2.0L four-cylinder remains the default entry choice, while a 182-hp 2.5L four-cylinder is advanced as an option. The manual gearbox disappears from the catalog, giving way to the CVT transmission.

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek will hit dealerships in late spring with a starting price of $28,995, up $4,000 when compared to the base 2023 manual (Convenience) package.
