The 2022 Subaru BRZ starting at $ 29,495

The second generation of the Subaru BRZ will be offered for 2022, and the automaker has just announced pricing. The good news is that the Subaru BRZ 2022 remains one of the most affordable 2 + 2 sports coupes on the market; he even shares the spotlight with the Toyota 86, its emulator on the side of Toyota.

According to Subaru, the car is based on a redesigned chassis providing greater rigidity and a lower center of gravity, improving its sporty attributes. Its aluminum roof and wings have also reduced its weight by a few kilos, it weighs only 1,277 kilos empty (2,815 pounds).

Those who found its power a bit tight will be happy to learn that the Subaru BRZ 2022 benefits from new mechanics, a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that develops 228 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and produces 184 lb-ft of torque. The previous generation used a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that developed 205 horsepower.

Two gearboxes are in the catalog: a manual with 6 short gears and an automatic, also with 6 gears, including selector levers on the steering wheel. The latter also includes “Rev Hang” RPM maintenance technology.

Despite all of these new features, the Subaru BRZ is offered at a similar base price. Here are the details of prices and versions.

Subaru BRZ 2022

– Subaru BRZ – $ 29,495
– Subaru BRZ with EyeSight – $ 31,895
– Subaru BRZ Sport-tech – $ 32,495

We note that the Subaru EyeSight driver assistance technology is appearing for the first time on board the Subaru BRZ, each of the two versions can be equipped with it. The EyeSight system monitors the road with two cameras and detects potentially dangerous situations in order to assist the driver.

The vehicle should be offered in dealership shortly. At the time of this writing, the Subaru Canada site only provided information on the 2020 version.
