The 2022 Everglades set to join the ranks of the Ford Bronco family

From summer 2022, a special edition of the Ford Bronco will join the family. Living up to its legacy, the newcomer continues the GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) mentality that has stuck with Bronco SUVs for decades. Designed to “tackle even tougher terrain and trails”, the Special Edition Everglades 2022 will become the model with the most standard off-road accessories in the lineup, including a snorkel (snorkel) and a winch, both factory-installed.

The engine intake snorkel system, designed and manufactured by Ford, is fitted for the first time on a Ford vehicle. Mounted to the A-pillar on the passenger side, it features two easy-to-interchange plates that raise the engine’s air intake above tough track conditions, helping to optimize performance in dust, snow and water . Its unique reversible head and intake set it apart from traditional snorkels. When paired with the raised air vents located on the front and rear axles, transfer case and transmission, the snorkel increases water clearance up to 92.5 cm (36.4 inches).

4 doors, 300 horsepower and 10 speeds

With its WARN ZEON 10-S winch, integrated into the heavy-duty Ford Performance front bumper and whose synthetic cable is 30.5 m (100 ft), the Everglades can pull up to 4,536 kg (10,000 lb). Convenient for getting out of the way or coming to the rescue of another vehicle.

The newest member of the Bronco family comes only as a four-door. In addition to its advanced 4×4 system, the Ford Bronco Everglades hides under its hood a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It is equipped with a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

Sasquatch gear included

The Special Edition includes off-road equipment from the Bronco Sasquatch Package which includes 17-inch Charcoal Gray painted alloy wheels and 35-inch Goodyear dirt-terrain tires. The package also includes rocker guards, a colored molded hardtop, roof rack with crossbars and steel skid plates, available on Black Diamond and Badlands trims. Its charred gray grille features glossy black Bronco lettering. Its square front and rear wheel arches, as well as its more imposing fender flares, are a nod to the first generation Bronco. Graphics, which represent the topography of the Everglades, decorate the front fenders.

Ford is offering five exterior colors for the 2022 Everglades: Desert Sand, a low-volume tint exclusive to the Everglades Edition, as well as Eruption Green, Area 51, Shadow Black and Cactus Gray. Inside, new Urban Green accents adorn the grab handles, air vents and seat stitching. The use of marine-grade vinyl for the seat construction and the rubberized floor are intended to make cleaning the cabin easier after a jaunt off the beaten path. Access to the SYNC 4 system is via an exclusive 12-inch touchscreen.
