Porsche adds the 911 GTS to its lineup

Faithful to each generation of the 911, Porsche multiplies the offer of variations of the model. Inevitably, it’s the turn of the GTS to switch to the new version. It is quite simply the most intense 911 before moving on to the Turbo and GT3 versions.

Available for pre-order now at a starting price of $ 150,700 for a Carrera GTS and stretching up to $ 173,700 for a Targa 4 GTS, this new range of versions will arrive in Porsche dealerships nationwide at the start of this year. next year. Consumers will be able to choose between the Carrera GTS, Carrera Cabriolet GTS, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4 Cabriolet GTS and Targa 4 GTS variants.

This variation incorporates a variety of standard performance accessories as well as an increase in power and torque to make the 911 even more precise in sporty driving. Some of its components, such as adaptive dampers which help reduce ground clearance by some 10 millimeters, come from the 911’s accessories catalog. These were, however, specially developed for the GTS.

Its 409-millimeter front and 381-millimeter rear brake discs come from a Turbo, while its black 20- and 21-inch rims were borrowed from the Turbo S. Consumers can then select one. net weight reduction package. This removes the rear seat and adds seats made of carbon fiber, lightened windows and directional rear wheels. All of this reduces the weight of the vehicle by 25 kilos (55 pounds).

All GTSs are powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-6 as a 911 Carrera S. Horsepower and torque rise to 473 hp and 420 lb-ft, respectively. That’s an increase of 30 horsepower and 30 lb-ft over a regular Carrera S. This engine can be paired with a 7-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The GTS stands out from other 911s with its body elements as well as black headlights and taillights. The interior is covered in the suede material that Porsche calls Race-Tex. Model-exclusive seats and steering wheel are also featured.
