Mercedes-Benz | New designs, new V8 and a small G -class approach

The German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz recently detailed its match plan to face the opposite winds that blow on the automotive industry. The return of the V8 to some models and the arrival of a new adventurous SUV is on the menu, in addition to a standardization of the stylistic language, whatever what is found under the hood.

The star brand thus hits its approach on BMW which has chosen to homogenize its designs in its energy transition, a much less polarizing approach than that favored by Mercedes-Benz. This reorientation thus seeks to make the electric range of the manufacturer more desirable, which struggles to ensure solid competition with its ovoid drawings.

The manufacturer leads in parallel with the first battery tests with solid electrolyte since February. It is a major advance in the development of its electric shutter aimed at “more than 1000 km” of autonomy, which could ensure a significantly more competitive range.

In contrast, the manufacturer's AMG division is busy developing a new V8 which should ultimately replace the hybrid propellant group of the C 63 AMG sedan leaning on a four-cylinder turbocharged (2 L). Despite its great power (671 hp), it has received a lukewarm welcome since its launch. It is said that this V8 will benefit from a “high -tech” hybrid component. Will it be based on the current eight-cylinder of 4 l biturbo? It is to follow.

Flaring the good deal, Mercedes-Benz's strategists also intend to launch a new SUV focused on the outset which will be smaller than class G. Without having details on hand to assess its positioning, it is nevertheless clear that this addition will be less expensive to compete, among other things, the Land Rover Defender.
