Kia reaffirms its electric shift with three models
While many rival brands openly dispute the relevance of an uncompromising electric shift, Kia persists and signs by revealing three electrified models as part of her “electric vehicle day” held last week. The EV4, PV5 and the EV2 style study are racing rather wide to win various clienteles.
Of the three creations, it is undoubtedly the EV4 which has the greatest potential for popularity. Presenting a template similar to that of the Tesla Model 3, this compact sedan will only be offered in a traction configuration of 201 CH, undoubtedly to ensure its affordability. Two batteries will be offered, one of 58.3 kWh, the other of 81.4 kWh, to ensure autonomy in European cycle (WLTP) respectively – the only data unveiled – 430 km and 630 km. Its well -profiled body spreading a draft coefficient of 0.23 hides a rather spacious rear chest of 490 L. It will arrive in North America in four -door livery at the end of the year.

The EV2 gives us a taste of a possible urban production model which will be marketed from 2026, but whose arrival in North America is obviously uncertain. The model focusing on the versatility of its interior, accessibility is ensured by the absence of central pillars. It is essentially aims to optimize the available space while retaining reserved dimensions, a bit like the first mini.

Finally, the PV5 will try to ride the Volkswagen Id.buzz wave from 2026 with a smaller van formula. 4.7 m long, about 11 cm more than the old Mazda5, but with a wheelbase of almost 3 m, it maximizes its modularity with sliding doors, its cubic appearance and its rather high height of 1.9 m. Presented as much in cargo version as five places, it will have a 71.2 kWh or 51.5 kWh battery, depending on the variation, to supply an electric engine before 160 hp and ensure a range of 400 km (in WLTP cycle). Kia will also launch a rear body version for entrepreneurs wishing to adapt the vehicle to their needs.

Another proposal that would be very relevant, but whose arrival in the country has not yet been confirmed.
