It’s over for the Lamborghini Aventador!

The story of the Murcielago estate begins at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011 with the presentation of theAventador LP 700-4. Eleven years later, 11,465 examples have been produced, and its platform has given rise to some of the most exclusive Lamborghini all time.

It is certainly the end of an era for the Italian manufacturer of Sant’Agatha with the exit from the factory of the last Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster 2022. This is the last car produced by the manufacturer with an engine whose main mechanism is a non-hybrid V12. From now on, the next generation of V12 will necessarily be assisted by some form of electrification.

Launched in 2011, the Aventador had big shoes to put on being the heiress of the Countach, Diablo and Murcielago. She accomplished her task brilliantly by surpassing them all in terms of sales. Initially launched with a 6.5-liter V12, the power was then 700 horsepower. During its career, this V12 has undergone several changes, some of which already include hybridization. Not only is the Aventador a car that has left its mark, it has also served as the basis for a collection of other cars, each more exclusive than the next. In the lot, we can highlight the Sian, the Veneno, the Centenario, the SC18 and SC20 as well as, more recently, the reincarnation of its ancestor, the Countach.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann sums up the Aventador: “The Aventador captured the design and engineering skills of Lamborghini when it was launched in 2011. The company values are still at the heart of its activities: purity, futuristic design, high-calibre performance, technical challenges and the production of emotions. He goes on to say: “These principles are the very essence of the Lamborghini Aventador and ensure that it will remain timeless. »

The very last Aventador produced is an LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster which will be heading to Switzerland. Particular fact, we remember the sinking of the ship Felicity Ace. There were 15 examples of the Aventador on board which were lost. To honor its customers, Lamborghini was forced to restart the assembly line for the Ultimae.
