Here is the new Jeep Compass 2022

Introduced in 2007, the Jeep compass became the brand’s entry-level vehicle, one that was supposed to allow more buyers to ride a Jeep. Marketed in its second generation since 2017, the Jeep Compass arrives for 2022 in its third generation, and the model has just been unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show 2021.

the Jeep compass, it is the best-selling Jeep vehicle in the world, its sales exceed those of the legendary Wrangler, the second best-selling vehicle at Jeep. It is therefore not surprising that the manufacturer pays great attention to it, especially since the Renegade never achieved the expected level of sales.

For 2022, the Jeep Compass benefits from an aesthetic overhaul that gives it a more sophisticated and modern design while retaining the style elements typical of Jeep. The front part has been revised, we especially notice the work done to the headlights and the front bumper.

The Trailhawk off-road version continues to stand out with its more robust design, engineers have added skid plates under the frame at the front. In general, the style of the new Compass 2022 aligns much more with that of the other models of the manufacturer, the family spirit is more present, a good thing in its case. The choice of rims has been revised, the manufacturer also took the opportunity to review the color palette of the body.

Same engine under the hood

On the mechanical side, no big change, the manufacturer has chosen the 4-cylinder 2.4-liter Tigershark engine which develops a power of 177 horsepower and produces a torque of 172 pound-feet. The Compass has never been a bomb, and that won’t change with this new generation.

The sport version with two-wheel drive remains equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the other liveries benefit from a 9-speed automatic. However, the manufacturer mentions having reworked the programming of its gearbox so that it is more responsive.

However, the vehicle retains its fuel-efficient side, 7.6 liters / 100 kilometers in its basic version; it has a towing capacity of 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds).

Since it displays the Jeep logo, the automaker has made sure to give it decent off-road aptitude, with both Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 system systems including a low range for more extreme off-roading. Both include the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System which includes multiple ride modes including Auto, Snow, Sand / Mud and Rock in the case of the Trailhawk version.

No plug-in hybrid version for Canada

No plug-in hybrid version for Canada as is the case for Europe, however we know that the manufacturer has announced that all its models will be electrified within 5 years.

The interior has also been reworked. The stylists wanted to increase the impression of quality, an element often criticized in the Jeep Compass. The dashboard also benefits from the manufacturer’s most recent multimedia interface, Uconnect 5, which uses Android technology. There is an 8.4-inch tablet-like digital display screen as standard in the basic versions, and 10.1 inches in the better-equipped models.

The vehicle will also benefit from a host of connectivity technologies, the manufacturer wants to make it the most technological Jeep in this regard.

Five versions of the 2022 Jeep Compass will be offered at a base price slightly higher than in 2021. Here is the price breakdown in Canada:
