The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will resume face-to-face activities next month after a short hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than ever, automobile manufacturers are taking an interest in it to present new models and new technologies. This will also be the case with BMW, which plans to unveil the high performance version of the electric iX, the M60. The manufacturer also wants to tell us about a mysterious body paint with intriguing characteristics.

It is indeed a painting that could, according to the words of BMW, change color electronically when a button is pressed. But we do not know more, because BMW was quite brief in its announcement sent by way of press release.

“We will (at CES) be the first demonstration of a technology that allows the color of a vehicle to be changed at the push of a button” – announced BMW through its communications channels.

Everything is therefore still very vague, but all the same intriguing. It will be interesting to see how BMW plans to go about changing the color of a vehicle in a fraction of a second. Would she use some form of augmented reality? Very likely, because it would be unthinkable to physically repaint a vehicle so quickly.
