Apollo G2J EV, an electric car that follows in the footsteps of the Apollo Gumpert

Apollo, it is the famous German manufacturer whose factory is based in Affalterbach. He is best known for marketing the Apollo Gumpert a racing car sold between 2005 and 2012, while it has been producing the Apollo Intensa Emozione an exceptional sports car assembled in a few copies and sold to the rich of this world for several million.

Since the trend requires it, the manufacturer has just presented its vision of what its next racing car could look like, this time equipped with an electric motor. The vehicle serves to demonstrate Apollo Future Mobility Group’s (AFMG) philosophy of sustainable mobility, a first step towards electrification for the brand.

Baptized G2J, the concept vehicle has been in development for two years. It has an ultra-lightweight bodywork that makes massive use of lightweight composite materials, including carbon fiber. It benefits from a zero-emission engine, and its development was carried out by firms located all over the world (Germany, Japan, England and the United States), a first for the manufacturer.

The manufacturer has been sparing with technical details, but mentions that the vehicle is in the final stages of development, and that a production version could be developed shortly. The most interesting thing about the announcement is the first images, which show a car with exotic and ultra-futuristic lines, a car that could well compete with other cars of its kind, including the Tesla Roadster.

Conclusion

Future cars will be electric or hybrid. Why ? Not only is this the trend, but in terms of performance, electric engines are much more efficient than petrol engines, in particular because of the torque they generate instantly.
